Gladys ChampeMOUNT LOOKOUT - Mrs. Gladys Champe, 83, died Wednesday, April 5, at a Ansted care center following a long illness.Born Oct. 7, 1905, at Mount Lookout, she was the daughter of the late Caleb and Marinda McCIung.Mrs. Champe was associated with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorton H. Champe on Jan. 24.1981; two sons, William in 1979 ana Bobby Champe in 1947.Survivors include a daughter, Mabel Bailes of Mount Lookout, seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the H.C. White Funeral Home in Summers-ville with James Lilly officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery at Mount Lookout.There will be no visitation.
