James Beftnett Now in Chiha Getting Material — Has Written BookMrs. Mary Bracken of this city hasreceived a letter from Mrs. B. F.Bennett of Riverside* Cal., in whichshe states that her son, James, whohas been in -China since October«•studying Chinese life has written a book which has just been published-The book deals with conditions in China.It is also stated that young Bennett is wihhihg fame as a short story writer, one of his stories having been accepted by the 0. Henry prize committee. Mr. Bennett was in the U. S. consular service in China for several years following his graduation from California State University and returned there last October to pursuehis studies of that greht country.Mr. Beniiet is a son of B. F. Bennett, a leading member of the Greens-burg bar for a quarter of a centpry. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett left here seven years ago.
