| Andrew Ponder passed away at Ins homo on West Seminary Street on Friday morning at about 2:00 o’clock. The deceased was past eighty-three years of age. lie was rnilv confined to his home for a wee*.Mr. Ponder was iborn near Cincinnati, Ohio and Uved there during the earlier part of his lifs. Ho was n' Civil War Veteran and was for a time a prisoner in the Cab aba Prison and was also one of the lew survivors of the steamer lt;4Sultanna ” He was ; a cooper by trade during the earlier years of his life and after coming to Union County became a machinist! and was employed at Rude Mfg. Co,, for .several years.On January 1, IRG6 he was married to Miss Maryetta Brown, who passed away on February lj 1021. Three children were bom of this marriage; Dan, of Liberty, Milton, deceaselt;\ and Cora, who is now Mrs. Howard Davis,of Cincinnati.Mr. Pouder’s second marriage occurred on September 3, 1924 to Mrs. Emma Um ben hour, and she with two children, Dan Pouder, L'berlv and Mrs. Davis of Cincinnati, survive him.He was a member of the Christian Church at Liberty and also a member of the G. A. R. Funeral services will be conducted from the Christian Church on Sunday afternoon at 2i90 o'clock by Rev. Albert N. Shockncy, with burial at West Point Cemetery.'
