Torfason Mark 50th Wedding AnniversaryMr. ard Mrs. Karl (Kallie)Torfason, formerly long-time G imli residents, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 18, quietly at their suite on Langside St., Winnipeg.Mr. and Mrs. Torfason were married in Winnipeg in 1924, and lived in Gimli from that time until 1952, when they nrwed to Winnipeg, when* they have lived since. They have two children, Mrs. Doreen Wyers of CJakwy, and Victor Tor'as n of Winnipeg Beach,and eight grandchildrenMr Torfason worked as agarage mechanic in Gimli, and operated Kullie’s Taxi for many years. After he moved to Winnipeg he did maintenance work, and sit ill is caretaker ofthe apartment building in which they live, at 75 years of age.Friends and relatives dropped■o Sunday to extend their congratulations and bring gifts and gree tings. Their daughter Doreen was unable to le, present at this time but will Ik* visiting them in early summer.
