Bily, pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish of Gana-do, celebrated his silver jubilee of ordination in the Ganado parish church Monday, March3°.Assisting Father Bily in the celebration of the Mass were four priest-cousins. They are Fathers Edmund Bily, archpriest; Edward Bily, deacon; John Bily, subdeacon; and Lambert Bily, master of ceremonies. Msgr. F. O. Beck, VF, pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Victoria, delivered the sermon.The jubilarian was ordained March 20, 1939 in the presence of San Antonio Archbishop Arthur Drossarests, whowas ill, Bishop Jose de Jesus Martinez Zarate of Huejulta, Mex. conferred the sacramentof Holy Orders in the ceremonies.Father Bily was born September 27, 1912 in Praha, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bily. He was baptized, made his first communion and was confirmed in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Praha.After attending the parochial school in Praha, he entered St. fohn Seminary in San Antonio in 1928.Following his ordination Father Bily was appointed an assistant pastor of St. John the Baptist parish in St. John and Ascension of Our Lord Church in Moravia.
