Y. took into the battle of Gettysburg one hundred and eiahty-five men and lost ninety-eight in history of New York at Gettysburg it says Brooks Brigade Sixty Fourth, I*. Y. Fifty-third, Pa,, and seventh Connecticut advancing through the wheat field drove Summers Georgians back through the woods acron Pluui Run up the steep wooded slops and out into the open on south side, Brooks Gallant Regiments attaiuing in the charge the fatherest advance point held on any part of Gettysburg field. The sixty-fourth Regiment Monument stands farther within enemies lines than any other at Gettysburg.The following from this town were in the Regiment,. Ren Payne, Nick Whitmeyer, Eph Russell, Jerome Hill, Burnet Mosher, Jim Saunders, also Andrew Gxltegar, deceased. All of whom served three years. Total enlistment 1357.
