A dinner party wm held Wednesday In honor of the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mri. Milton Bltney of Bloomer. Mr*. Bltney wan celebrating: her birthday at the name time. The couple are pictured above listening; to a congratulatory speech presented by their granddaughter, Bonnie.Bloomer Couple Celebrates Golden Wedding AnniversaryBLOOMER — Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bltney of Bloomer held a double celebration Wednesday in honor of their golden wedding anniversary and Mrs. Bitney's birthday.Open house was held from 2 to 4 p.m. at their home for friends and relatives who wished to congratulate the couple. Ice cream, cake and coffee were served.At 5 p.m. a dinner was served to about 40 guests in the dining hall of St. John's Lutheran Church. The tables were decorated appropriately and a wedding cake adorned with roses was the center-piece. The cake was made by the B i t n e y s’ daughter-in-law, Mrs. RaymondBitney.DIKING THE dinner the Rev. A. J. Zaiser. acting as toastmaster. opened the program with a prayer and words of good wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Bitney. Bonnie Bitney congratulated her grandparents and their grandson, Bruce, then presented a piano solo. Bruce and his father, Raymond sang Mr. and Mrs. jitney’s favorite song, My God and I, accompanied by Barbara Franz on the piano. Bonnie Bitney sang You, You, You,accompanied on t h e piano by her father. The program closed with all the guests singing Silver Threads Among the Gold.Mrs. Bitney wore a blue crepe dress with a corsage of yellow roses for the occasion, and her husband, who was wearing a grey suit, also had a yellow rose for his boutonniere.Milton Bitney and Rosina Fehr were married in the Town of Auburn at the Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Martin Plass officiating. They lived on a farm northwest of Bloomer for two years, then purchased a farm in the Town of Tilden, where they lived for five years. They then moved to their present home at 1003 Priddy St. in Bloomer. Bit-ney was a molder in the Bloomer Machine Works, worked as a mason, and then worked for Armour and Company for 25 years before retiring. They have one son, Raymond and two grand-children, Bruce and Bonnie.Mr. and RWs. Bitney received cards, gifts, flowers and a purse of money for the occasion.Secrets of Charm
