Under direction from Tho governor general in Council the Canadian radio television commission May not after september 1, 1970, renew or Amend the licences of broadcasting undertakings that Are not owned and effectively controlled by Canadian citizens or eligible Canadian corporations. 2. On july 24, 1970, the commission announced administrative procedure for dealing with the licensees of broadcasting undertakings that do not yet comply with this direction. 3. In order to provide for orderly processing of applications scheduling of hearings and possible contingencies All other licensees listed required to file Complete applications on or before february 12, 1971, for hearings before the summer of 1971. If Complete applications ant filed Well before february 12, 1971, in the fall of 1970, such applicants could be heard in the first months of 1971. 9. The commission considers this february 12 deadline for filing essential in scheduling applications for hearings and for orderly completion of the divestiture program. Should further procedural Steps be required these will be announced later. 10. Because of the nature of these hearings the commission wishes to remind the Public and interested parties that opposition is recognized and accepted procedure at All crts Public hearings.
