Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - September 26, 1970, Winnipeg, ManitobaWinnipeg free press saturday september 26, 1970 25 dear Heloise Here s an idea i Fiad very helpful since i m a recipe Clipper and often Don t want to spend time to copy them right away on file cards. I bought several Manila envelopes to fit my Large Loose Leaf Cookbook opened the flaps and printed an appropriate heading on the in Side of each. Then with the flaps facing me i punched corresponding holes along the left Side of the envelopes and inserted them flaps up in my Cookbook at the begin Ning of each Section cakes desserts meats Etc. And at the Back there s one marked Heloise of n7ow when i clip a recipe or suggestion it s easy to drop it into the appropriate envelope til 1 get time to try it then copy it. Heloise fan i ran rickety split to the store for some Manila Enve Lopes just so 1 could put your excellent hint to use. Now getting things organized for the first time in years Heloise dear Heloise if you Are tired of measuring Tablespoons of butter or Margarine that Are needed in Many recipes save cooking time by pre measuring them. Cut up two or three Sticks by slicing through the indicated measuring guides hat. Are on wrappers of Many brands. Then leaving the wrapper around the incl v i d u a 1 pieces place in by waxed hints i from i Heloise by Heloise Cruse paper in a Freezer Container and store in your Freezer. Any number of Tablespoons Are then easily accessible. Barbara Swabb dear Heloise when my Mother had a bad headache she needed her Icecap but remembered she had loaned it to a Friend. So an idea popped into my head. I took my Mother s plastic lined Shower Cap to the Kitchen filled it full of ice then tied the opening together with a shoestring. Makes a great ice Cap Karen Mcvay dear Heloise i recently came up with something friends and family like. When your carrots sliced Are Best Are cooked tender take the liquid plus juice from a can of pineapple tid bits thicken with cornstarch and Cook.
