It should also remind local skiers that time is running Short to Complete their conditioning and Check their equip ment if they want to be ready to go As soon As conditions Are right. Many hav already made sure they re ready including those who took advantage of the Swap shop at the Winnipeg ski club on the past two weekends to sell off their old equipment and replace it with bargains from other skiers. Many have also bought new equipment since ast Winter and Are anxiously awaiting a Chance to try i out on the slopes. But if you re among those who Haven t made any preparations As yet we d advise you to Check things out now. You May find some repair work necessary and it s better to get it done now than have to miss the Start of the season. As for conditioning a Little More walking and some Stair climbing will help to augment any exercises you re doing. We be no direct reports As yet from the various ski resorts in the area but unofficial reports indicate that it has t been an Idle summer. Some Hill improvements have been reported and we re looking Forward to seeing the word from Thompson indicates work is progressing Well on the replacement of the clubhouse which was destroyed by fire last year and there has also been work on the Hills through the summer. Noel and Betty later of la Riviere s Holiday Mountain resort in Winnipeg this week for a tourist convention report they re making final preparations for a big season too and they la be Forward ing a full report on their improvements soon. Rumor also has it that some work has been completed at Falcon Lake Dur ing the summer and a full report on Winter plans for that provincially operated area is expected shortly. We d also like to hear from the folks at Agassiz Ken Ora Stony Mountain and any other ski areas in the province. We re sure most skiers Are already Well aware that Al and Nancy Raine will be in town next thursday for a big ski movie night at the play House theatre but Here s a final reminder about the show. Three films Are to be shown and the proceeds go to the National ski team. It sounds like a Good show and it s certainly for a Good cause. If you Haven t picked up your tickets yet there May still be some available at the Winnipeg ski club or Cord s ski Centre but you d better hurry there s an important ski meeting scheduled for 10 .
