Ed was predeceased by his mother, siblings, son- in- law Ron Mills and granddaughter Ashley Mills. Ed is survived by his loving wife Marion; children Kim ( Ron) Mills, Britt ( Doug) Muntain, Jim ( Catherine Zybak) Bowman; grandchildren Ashley, Tyler ( Emily), Vince, Jack, Catherine, Margret; great- grandchildren Jodie and Molly; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed worked 43 years at Safeway and was referred to as the " Bear". Ed enjoyed many years of retirement traveling to many destinations. Ed enjoyed Nutimik Lake and their cottage. He was also one of the founders of Good Neighbors, he also took up acting, performing in many dinner plays ( star of the show). Ron was predeceased by his parents Peter and Marie Bodner and his first wife Cheryl ( née Erickson). Glen Eden Funeral Home 204- 338- 7111 JOSEPHINE ( JOZEFA) PEPCA BERNJAK On August 7, 2015 Josephine passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 82 years. Josephine ( Jozefa) Pepca Bernjak was born April 18, 1933 in the town of Golavabuka, Slovenija. Seeking a better life for her family, Josie and her husband Rudy moved to Winnipeg in 1954. She had a resolute work ethic, proving to be a valuable employee and manager in a variety of positions, including many in the food industry. In 1967 Josie bought her own restaurant, “ Josie’s”. After selling the restaurant in 1978, Josie became a real estate agent, real estate investor, and eventually began breeding and grooming dogs. Josie possessed a great love for all animals but had a special affection for dogs. Josie had an unwavering dedication to her friends and family, and loved cooking for them. She was an active member of the Slovenian community. Josie is survived by her sister Anica Zvikart and family in Slovenia, her son Ferdinand Bernjak and daughter Daniela Salmen; Ferd’s wife Susan and their five children Lori ( Blair), Kris ( Kim), Carly ( Evan), Andria and Steven, as well as her dearly loved great- grandchildren Hailey, Sophia, Isla, and Madelynn. Josie was looking forward to the birth of her fifth greatgrandchild in September. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudy, and her son- in- law, Ray Salmen. Al was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on April 30, 1942 to the late Grant and Agnes ( Baillie) Brydges of Manitoulin Island. A retired Warrant Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Al was stationed throughout Canada and in Lahr, Germany. In addition to proudly serving his country, he also enjoyed serving his countrymen as a bartender at various Warrant Officers' and Sergeants’ Messes. After retirement, he went on to work with the Reserves as an instructor and then as a Commissionaire at 17 Wing, CFB Winnipeg. In 2009 Al settled in Victoria, BC, enjoying varied Commissionaire postings, including his last position as Evidence Custodian at National Investigative Services, CFB Esquimalt in 2015. He will be dearly missed by his children; Jeffrey ( Busan, Korea), Jason ( Vancouver), Jennifer Kingston ( Ryan) and his beloved Granddaughter, Eeva ( Victoria). Lovingly remembered by sisters Eloise Odber ( Joe), Colleen Wasyliniuk ( Eddy), Sharon McNaught ( Robert) of Sault Ste. Marie and Brenda of British Columbia. He was predeceased by siblings Doris Carter ( Fred), Patricia Sharpe ( Norm), Robert ( Bob), Bruce, Ruby Mae and Gail Lidstone ( Gary) of Sault Ste. Marie. Of notable mention, his previous marriage to Val Brydges, nee Forssi, gave Al many years of happiness and he loved her and her family dearly. His vocations and love of his family inspired Al to pen many poems that will live on in our hearts. His enthusiasm for family, friends and good food remain an inspiration to the lives he has touched. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle in 2005. Grace was also predeceased by her two brothers, Gordon and Robert Fraser and sister Hilda McIvor. Mom was a longtime member of Deer Lodge United Church, and active in several women’s group functions. Mom worked part time at Eaton’s Polo Park in the sewing notions department and enjoyed the interaction with other ladies and their projects. Mom and Dad travelled extensively through Canada and the USA, spending some of their retirement time in Hawaii and Arizona. Her family was most important, and she loved Sunday dinners and spending time together. Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank the staff at West Parks Manor for their care and compassion during Mom’s stay, especially the staff of 1- South. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ruth, in 2012. He leaves to mourn his passing: sister Yvonne Smith, sisters- in- law Joyce Morin, Betty Morin, Dorothy Hunt and Georgia Lemoine; Ruth’s daughters Pat ( Walter Shier), Randy ( Larry Adams), his grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and many close friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Victoria Morin, his brothers, Alex Morin ( Hilda), Alan Morin, Albert Morin, sisters Mary ( Earl Boyd), Clara ( Roger Vanatreeve), Rose ( Donald Fraser) and Betty ( Carl Lundgren), brother- in- law Fred Smith. Bill and Ruthie resided in Inwood, MB for most of their life until their recent move to Teulon Manor. They were active in their community and Bill was always ready to lend a helping hand to his friends/ family and neighbours. He loved to farm and loved his sports, especially “ horseshoes”, for which he was well known throughout the Province. A notable accomplishment was his receiving the CTV Sportsman Award which was prominently displayed along with his many other trophies in their kitchen for all to see. That same kitchen was “ Home” to many laughs, great stories and good times. It will be sorely missed by those who came to visit with them. Our family would like to thank the staff and Home Care workers at Gateway Manor in Teulon, for their care and attention the past few years. And a special thanks to Dr. Loudon and the staff at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for their care.
