Winnipeg Free Press (Newspaper) - April 8, 2015, Winnipeg, Manitoba D8 WINNIPEG FREE PRESS, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8, 2015 TEST STELLA SICHEWSKI ( nee OLENYZC) February 7, 1948 - April 5, 2015 It is with peaceful and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, sister, auntie, baba and friend, Stella Sichewski, on April 5 at the Grace Hospital, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her great husband of 46 years, Danny; children and seven grandchildren, son Kyle ( Erin), grandchildren, Myles, Dennon, Nathan, Logan, and son Ryan ( Lindsay), grandchildren, Kaiden, Kellan, Kohen. She is also survived by her sister Irene, brother Ron ( Susan) and numerous family and extended family members. She was predeceased by her father Dmytro Olencyz, her mother Mary Lechman and stepfather Steve Lechman. She was born February 7, 1948 in Munich, Germany. She spent her whole life in Transcona, where she met and married the love of her life. Here they built a home and a family. Her greatest loves were spending time with family, completing a crossword while eating sunflower seeds, endless weekends at the cottage, knitting and sewing for her boys, watching her family grow, sharing in their experiences, laughs and joys. Stella was very close to her family and friends, and gracefully danced through life with her husband through thick and thin. She never failed to brighten a room and will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the kind and compassionate staff of Parkview Place and Grace Hospital who made her last few days very comfortable. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 7: 00 p. m. Service will be held on Friday, April 10 at 10: 00 a. m. Both services will be at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Carole ( nee Price), his sons Michael ( Lisa Nolin), and Marcel ( Chantal); grandchildren: Abbigail, Breanna, Kira, Keiran, Azara, Korbin, Kingston and Karsin; brothers: Alain ( Lorraine), Gerald, Wilfred ( Lorraine), Paul ( Darlene), Roger ( Denise), and Guy. Edward was predeceased by his parents Armand and Antonia, and siblings: Julien ( Henriette), Margaret Ottawa, and Louis Trudeau ( Patricia). Edward lived most of his adult life in St. Boniface with the exception of a few years in the Army after high school - on a bet - then briefly working in Western Canada before returning to St. Boniface and eventually settling down. He worked at St. Boniface Hospital for over 30 years and made many friends and even met his wife Carole. He will also be fondly remembered for the years he coached his boys’ soccer teams. Call 204- 771- 8029 TEST ARIE VAN RY November 11, 1934 - April 6, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, and opa, at the age of 80, peacefully at Concordia Place Nursing Home on Monday, April 6, 2015. Our dad is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 56 years, Nelly; children: Harry Van Ry ( Sara), Wilma Hillhouse ( Scott), Margaret Winkler ( Rick), Audrey Van Ry, Susan Thomas ( Randal), Elaine Schoenberger ( Jason), Cheryl Vannus ( Louis), and Marcia Van Ry; 20 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; many foster children as well as numerous extended family both here in Canada and in the Netherlands. Dad was predeceased by his infant daughter; his parents Arie and Hendrika Van Ry; sisters Adri Mak, Leny Van Ry and Riet Remillard, and brother Jan Van Ry. Dad was born and raised in the Netherlands, then followed the love of his life, Nelly, to Canada in 1958 and they were married in 1959. He was a great family man and proud employee of Federal Pioneer, working as an Electrical Engineer, retiring after 35 years in 1993. Dad will be remembered for his time spent with his family at Grand Beach, his morning ritual of reading his Time magazine while waiting for his friend Herbie to carpool to work, his love for birds, his eagerness to identify the species in his trusty bird book. But most of all, he will be remembered for the wonderful husband and father that he was. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place for all their special care and compassion in Dad’s final years. Dad will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Dad’s life will be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1: 00 p. m. Pallbearers are Erik Van Ry, Alex Van Ry, Matthew Hillhouse, Jonathan Winkler, Shaun Winkler, and Dylan Thomas. Honorary pallbearer is Joshua Hillhouse. SLAVKO VUKELIC It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Slavko on April 2, 2015, at the age of 82. Slavko was born to Mother Kata and Father Jurae on December 16, 1932 in Jurjevo, Croatia. He came from a family of seven children, including Gerga, Michu, Ivica, Joso, Draga, Ante and Marko. Slavko immigrated to Canada in 1961 and lived with his wife Petra and son John.
