Mary Hickman wife of the late Peter Hickman one of the old setlers of the East part of the county died at the Home of mrs. N. L. Little saturday evening. The funeral services conducted by the Rev. A. Due Strow of st. Louis who shot his wife and a two year old child to death on feb. 13th, 1894, was hanged in st. Louis at noon tuesday. He was immensely wealthy and his Money has been lavishly used to save his neck but to no purpose. The verdict was a righteous one and approved by All. A the funeral of Milton Hartz was held from the Carbondale Church conducted by the Rev. J. P. Shagley at 10 a. M., tuesday. The burial services were under the direction of Sherman Lodge k. Of p., of which he was a member. Interment took place in Hillside cemetery. Members of a number of lodges participated and a Large Circle of friends were in attendance. A Jacob Wolfe and Milton Little Are preparing to Issue March 5th, a new monthly publication thie Farmers Magazine edited and published by Wolf amp Little. The periodical will be in Magazine form of 82 pages three column to the Page the subscription Price being 50 cents per year. A3 its name implies it will be devoted to farm interests. We wish the new Enterprise Success As Well As its management. A the Post office fight continues with unabated interest. The people have evidenced the fact that they desire to be heard and if we understand judge Crumpacker at All it is that he will give the people a Man who will prove efficient is a Good Republican is As far As possible satisfactory to the political workers and above All is the Man that the people want. This being done nobody can have room to find fault or kick him for the selection he shall make. A few men in any Community Ough t not to say who shall fill the offices of the people. A the annual statement of the Warren county building loan fund and savings association has been issued. It shows that the receipts for ten years have been $227,339.19, that there has been loaned to stockholders in that time .$98,968.50, that there has been built for members 57 houses and that 47 houses have been purchased for members. Already two series a and b have matured that the affairs of the association Are in splendid shape. Williams port s building and loan association has been a great thing for our people and the town. A the Lafayette papers last week and Early this week announced that judge Crumpacker would be in Lafayette tuesday and wednesday of this week to see Post office applicants and their friends in this end of the District prior to deciding appointments. It is said that the judge was sick and was unable to be there but that the town was filled with eager seeker who had not Learned that he was prevented from filling his engagement. We have heard of no one going from this Section. Or Crumpacker we understand will recommend the persons tie people want if he is Able tiv learn who they Are this is right and will make him freads.
