In the state of new York August 1,1837, a Little daughter came to the Home of Thomas and Charlotta Allen to this Little one they gave the name of Ary at the age of 19 years she came to visit her brother George Allen who resided at Grove City Ohio. Here she met William Bender of Virginia. After a year s acquaintance they were United in marriage. Thus another Home was added to Grove City. To this genial couple came five children mrs. La Vina House Long Beach California mrs. Ida Coblentz Gettysburg or. Harry Bender and mrs. Mertie Lomerson Bradford or. George Bender Williamsport ind. In 1886 they moved to Drake county locating on the old Mahler Homestead near Bradford. This family United by letter with the m. A Church at Bradford. February 13, 1900, the husband and father was called Home. Mother Bender still remaining on the old Homestead until the autumn of 1913, since then she has been living with her children june 1, 1914, she went to make her Home with her youngest son George who with his Good wife did All that Loving hands and hearts could do for her Comfort. September 18, at 5 30 am she received a severe fall causing intense suffering. Yet not a murmur Ever passed her lips often thanking her children for their kindness. October 9, 1914, just As the Sun was bidding his world Good night she quietly fell asleep to say Good morning in the Bright and better Home of All the father s children god gives us All some Small Sweet Way to set the world rejoicing. Mother Bender s Way of giving the world rejoicing was a very hospitable and Loving spirit. In her Home and heart was Ever a place for child and Friend no one Ever crossed her threshold that did not feel they had indeed been blessed. To the ten grandchildren the memory of grandmother who by her Loving and thoughtful care and keep will As the years past by be like the fragrance of some Sweet Flower As its perfume is wafted out on the Breeze god granted to Ary Matilda Bender 77 years 2 months and 8 Days.
