The epidemic of smallpox which has been raging in Attica for sometime past is being rapidly stamped out by the authorities and no further spread of the disease is expected. Except in one or two cases the disease has been extremely mild in most instances scarcely putting the patient to any trouble whatever. Last week we reported 68 cases but find that we were misinformed As the authorities have records of Only about 40 cases. The schools and theatres have opened up again and it now appears like the end was in sight. There were Over 1,000 cases reported from Over the state without one fatality. Lost in tournament. At the District Basket Ball tournament held at Lafayette last Friday and saturday Williamsport bumped into a Stone Wall called Quot Jefferson High school Quot and when they regained consciousness found that their opponents had chalked up 54 Points and had allowed them but two which a Ere made by Jim Shuey.
