Mrs. Arthur remedy of Chicago is visiting with her parents Henry Dixon and wife. Misses Jennie and Ida Fields and their House guest miss Elsie Hawkins Pic Nice along the Wabash Friday. Miss Elsie Hawkins of Danville has been spending a part of her vacation with misses Jennie and Ida Fields the past week. Miss Hawkins has Many friends in this Community and is very popular among the younger set. We Are always glad to have miss Hawkins with us. The league social was held at the Home of miss Marjorie Bovers thursday evening. The spacious Lawn was an Ideal place for the fete. Japanese lanterns were Hung among the Trees and with the Young people fluttering about made a Beautiful As Well As a Happy scene. Dainty refreshments were served and All departed at a late hour voting miss Bowers the Best of hostesses. Mrs. Josephine Clem a former resident of this place died at the Home of her daughter. Mrs. Kate Garrison near Marsh eld. Mrs. Clem had been living near Galloway Chapel for several years when a year ago she was stricken with paralysis. She gradually became weaker until death which came at 3 o clock Friday morning. The body was taken to the Home of the deceased s Mother mrs. Ballard of this place. The funeral services a were held at Benson on sunday at 3 o clock. The deceased had Many friends and relatives at this place who mourn her death. Hedrick. Crane died at her Home four Miles Northwest of independ-1 ence saturday july 15, at 11 25 a. M. Mrs. Crane was the widow of Moses m. Crane a Soldier in the mexican War who preceded her in death thirty two years ago. Had i mrs. Crane lived until aug. 27th, she would have been 83 years old. Five children survive to her departure William and Charles of Independence who reside on the Home farm mrs. Stella Rierson of Attica mrs. Alice Boyd of st Louis mo., and mrs.
