The Collis Produeta Co., of Clinton, Iowa, will establish a plan in Decatur. The company manufacturers a powder- ed buttermilk which ia being generally introduced throughout the country. The buttermilk from the Martin- Klepper creameries will be used in the manufacture of the new product. The Decatur plant will produce pounds of the powder every year and will occupy a new building to be erected near the creamery. A bold thipf who entered the home of 13. W. 1'uckett, of Ft. Wayne, suc- ceeded in making a haul of jewels and cash which is estimated at more than in Mr. Puckett's room the intruder took from Mr, Puck- ett's trjusers, while in Mrs. Puckett'i room three diamond rings, a platinum brooch set with diamonds and several othar jewels were taken. The Disbursement Committee cf the Van Wert County War Chest met Sun- day afternoon, at the Y. M. C. A. and unanimously allowed for Jewish relief work in Europe and Asia. There are six million Jews in the two conti- nents who because of the war have been made destitute. Millions of dol- lars have been raised in this country during the past year for their relief and the Van Wert County money ia a contribution to this large fund. The men included: Edward Conn, Hurry Powell, N. F. Hathaway, It Black, George Little, John L y, Clyde Conwell. Meredith Switzer, aged nineteen years, a son of Herman D. SwitKer, of Pleasant township, who' is a Junior in the Van Wert High School and has been working after school hours at the Court Houee restaurant, suffered a vio lent mental outbreak about mirl-night, Saturday, while in his sleeping over- the restaurant. His employes and patrons of the restaurant ooserveci that Switzer had been acting un- natural for the past several days, his condition being more pronounced on' Saturday. Shortly after retiring he was seized with a decided mental dis- turbance and during his dilemma he broke a window pane, sustaining cuts to his hands and about the face The police responded to a call for aasisrancc and he waa removed to the county jaii, where he was given medical attention.
