Natalie Dodd As the summer winds Down and the leaves begin to change color closing time for summertime businesses and venues is fast approaching. As is the Case with Many seasonal businesses Woods dog House will be closing for the season on labor Day. The hot dog stand which first opened on aug. 29, 1989, is owned and operated by ,4 Susan Fry and her husband. According to Fry her husband created the blueprints chopped the Wood and then built the place himself. Fry a aunt Katherine Wood had once run a hot dog stand when Fry was a Young girl just Down the Road from where Woods dog House now stands. The hot dog stand was called the dog House. The 26-year-old business has made a few minor changes Over the years including adding new menu items landscaping changes and hosting concerts and car cruise ins. Despite the additions the old fashioned feel of the hot dog stand remains the same. The stand which opened for the season in late March saw one of its slower seasons this summer which Fry attributes to the copious amount of Rainy Days at the Start of the season. We started doing the car cruises every third sunday and having a band and it just seemed like for every one of them it rained this year a Fry said.
