According to the National weather service office in Cleveland the regions creeks and streams Are at risk for ice Jam flooding. The weather service reports that the recent and ongoing warm up has melted a Large portion of the areas Snow pack and that has caused Creek and River Levels to Rise. Those increased Levels Are producing a higher risk for ice jams As Large sheets of ice remain on the areas Waterways. The most vulnerable communities Are those along creeks that Drain into the still Frozen Lake Erie. The threat level will increase into the weekend when some rain moves into the area leading to More ice break up and higher Creek Levels. Ice jams Are unpredictable and conditions can change rapidly. The threat for flooding will continue until the ice is Able to break up or move into the Lake. The still Frozen Lake Erie will be a Barrier to any ice trying to Advance downstream for the creeks and Rivers that flow North the weather service reports that rainfall amounts will Range from two tenths to half an Inch of precipitation. Allen Clark director of Crawford county emergency management said residents living in Low lying areas or along the Banks of creeks and streams need to Monitor the Waterways. Clark said that residents living in flood prone areas should move valuables to the upper floors of the House and also have an emergency kit ready. The Garden club has partnered with Polk centers hrs Concrete to produce the planters. The Garden club will place the planters on City property and maintain them year round. Club members have researched different possibilities for replacing the deteriorating boxes. Transporting storing and Upkeep have become overwhelming for the clubs members Wilcox Nursery and All of the Volunteer Community helpers. Vandalism has also been a major Issue.
