Police charged Freddy Forsyth 38, of 4232 Dearborn st., with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of criminal sexual assault May 2, 1989. The charges were filed after an investigation revealed the suspect allegedly raped the child during a two year period beginning in december of 1987. Police allege the attacks continued until january of 1989, according to assistant states attorneys John Murphy and Paul Groah. The alleged attacks took place in Lansing and Hammond but the charges were placed in Illinois prosecutors said. When he was arrested in May Forsyth was released on a personal recognizance Bond. That Bond however was later revoked when he jumped bail in november of 1989, Groah said. Forsyth was picked up on dec. 21 on a warrant and has been held in Cook county jail without Bond since his arrest prosecutors noted.
