Smethport High school upset the old dope bucket in a blinding snowstorm last saturday afternoon at Mccoy stadium and triumphed Over port Allegany High school traditional football rivals by a score of 13-0. The Start of the game was held up for some time due to an automobile Accident in which several of the port players figured on the Way to Smethport. When the contest finally Start j de the weather conditions were of the worst possible variety for a football game causing a distinct hardship for players and spectators alike. Many figured that the heavy team from Canoe place would have a Dis j Tinct advantage on account of the 1 condition of the Field. Stewart kicked off for Smethport j and the visitors were held for Downs. Port attempted to punt but Southwick. Hard playing local Back crashed through and blocked the kick Captain Freddie Petruzzi of s. H. S. Swooped Down on the Ball like an Eagle after its prey and the grounded Ball behind ports goal line counted for the first local touchdown. Johnson converted the extra Point by skimming around right end. Stewart kicked off for s. H. S. The second time. In an Exchange of punts it was ports Ball on their own 10-Yard line.
