Irons of Aiken Mckean county civil defense director has announced that a one Day seminar on shelter management is planned for tuesday sept. 15, at either Bradford or Smethport. A definite site will be announced later. The Senate appropriations committee approved wednesday $27,-000,000 for construction work at the Allegheny River Reservoir located in Pennsylvania and new York. The Multi million Dollar appropriation for additional work i at the Kinzua dam area had it been approved by the House. Harrisburg state funds totalling $15,213.96 have been paid to six school districts in Mckean county covering part of the Cost of providing special education classes for handicapped pupils in the 1962-63 school year the state department of Public instruction said wednesday. Of this sum $4,063.27 was paid to Bradford City school District. State Grants to this school District represented reimbursement for part of the Cost of name chairman of heart unit memorial croup mrs. Herbert Ledden was named chairman of the memorial committee during wednesdays meeting of the executive committee of the Mckean county heart association held at hotel Holley Bradford. Special classes for mentally retarded pupils in both elementary and High school grades and for Quot trainable pupils. Other Mckean county school districts to which state funds have been paid up to this time for special classes in the indicated school year for handicapped pupils were Kane Union $2,720.32 port Allegany Union $4,268 Bradford township $1,981.59 Foster township $2,106.47 and Corydon township $54.33. Most of the special classes conducted by these school districts were for mentally retarded elementary and High school pupils. Similar classes were provided also in port Allegany schools by the Mckean county Board of school directors. State funds for these classes were paid to the Board at the opening of the school term the department said. Sen. Potter reported to the Mckean county commissioners monday on his trip to Chicago last week where he attended a Quot Short course for prosecuting attorneys at Northwestern University school of Law. The state Bureau of Revenue informed the Board that it will make a periodic audit this week of escheat items in several of the Mckean county offices. Approved was an appropriation of $96 to the Fairview cemetery association Smith Hill. The Money will be used toward maintenance of the 32 Graves of veterans located in the cemetery. The accompanying list noted that 19 of the 32 Graves were those of veterans of the civil War eight from world War one and four from world War two.
