No. 14 Start Gas line from Coryville to Potter Field United natural will connect with Bio Hebron Cas Wells a new 11-Lnch pipe line is to constructed immediately by the United natural Gas co., from its station at Coryville a new Miles from Smethport to the great new Hebron deep Gas Field in Potter county. The new line will connect with a 11-Inch line that leads from Coryville to Bradford and is part of the vast pipe line distributing system of the big Gas corporation. The mileage of the new pipe line has not been ascertained but it is at least 25 Miles from Coryville to Hebron. The preliminary Survey has been in Progress and it is expected that construction work will started As soon As possible. The North Penn Gas company of port Allegany already Lias a pipe line to the Hebron Field. During the past two years several deep Wells have been drilled in the Hebron Field with huge daily production averaging As High As 20 million feet for the later Eils. It looks As if the owners of the huge Wells Are now assured of a Market for their Gas. The Potter development co., in which a number of Smethport men Are interested has drilling Well progressed on a Well in the area. Robert Hungiville of Rixford this county struck the first huge Oriskany Sand producer at Hebron in 1931 and has since completed a second big Well. Borough solicitor sends water rate protest to Public service commission a Blanket protest of new rates filed by the Smethport water co. The protest emphasized an alleged Lack of adequate fire hydrant service Here and asserted that this was proven during the costly main Street fire of january 20, when the Only thing that saved a great part of the town As the availability of Hamlin Lake for out of town pumpers. For this reason the official protest said the increase in hydrant Cost to the Borough from $200 per year to $25 for each of the 38 hydrants or $950 a year was a unjust unreasonable excessive and it was also alleged that water furnished by the Smethport water co.
