Sioux Center News (Newspaper) - September 11, 1974, Sioux Center, IowaEditorials deeds filed in Sioux county wednesday september 11, 1974 the Sioux Center news Page 2 i dots it really Tok All Iti ids off popu to Nelko a world someone has said it takes All kinds of people to make a world. Admittedly a Little variety does make it More inter Esting but we can t help but believe the world would actually be better off without some of those who pass As human. Those for example Bent solely on destruction who would literally wipe most of the nations and their people off the face of the Earth if they could so they could have More More Power and influence More riches fewer problems More happiness supposedly these Are the ones we classify in a general Way Asfa antics self entered fanatics. They care nothing a bout anyone but themselves. Actually if such morons could control the Earth they would in due time be come self destructive and wipe out themselves As Well As everything that confronted them. Such people Are caught up in the nightmarish idea that the Best Way to make a better world is to destroy it. Destruction is their sole goal. Obviously the world would be much better off without such people or at least it would be a much More pleasant place to live. We could list As undesirable the Type of people that tend to take take take consume consume con sume never giving never replenishing never producing never contributing. The negative gooks al ways belly Ching Crit izing never offering a constructive idea. They too tend to weaken the world to hamper its development to slowly diminish it. The world would be better off without this Type also. Then there s the Type who want a guarantee of Success of Security of happiness of fulfilment of Friendly treatment. They Are highly disturbed if it does t rain when rain is needed and if machinery d Owesn t perform efficiently even when inadequately serviced. These Are the folks that think life should be free of All problems worry frustration. These Are the idealists who live in a dream world who find reality almost incurable. They can make life miserable for everyone around them. An example of the latter Type person is the 43-year old Miami Man who last week demanded Back his $800 contribution to a Baptist Church on the grounds that he had not received blessings benefits and re wards As the minister promised he would receive if he gave 10 percent of his wealth to the lord s work. Another Man was so flabbergasted by the Gaul of this act that he sent the Man a Check for $800. The trouble with this Type of individual is that he does t recognize a Blessing when he sees one and is of the opinion that All benefits and rewards come in Greenback form. This Type too is a detriment to the world and All with whom they come in Contact. Thank god there Are lots of Good people m the world. We believe they exist in sufficient number to in due time help make this a much better world than we now have. The world has experienced gains from time to time some rather commendable gains. But not necessarily because there was wide spread tithing be ing practice around the Globe though that undoubtedly would be a plus but because we have people who Are trying who do care about others who Are willing to work hard to contribute in Many ways. Let s not be deterred by the undesirable types but rather encouraged and strengthened by the doers the optimistic the people of Strong Faith. Your Faith & mine by Tom Westfall listen of you be helped me so much. I agree with everything you said Only i had t said anything. All i d done was listen for two hours As the lady poured out her heart to me. She had unloaded the accumulated junk of year things held inside herself because there was no one to listen. She told me she could t talk to her husband. He was either too Busy too tired or too bored to hear her. She had no close friends to whom she could open herself. When she came to me she was near desperation. But after Only two hours of purging herself she Felt like a new person. In the process of speaking she had been Able to sort out her feelings and come to some conclusion about her problems. She left my office a different person than when she walked in. And she left thinking i had advised her when in reality i had Only listened. This sort of thing happens frequently to those who counsel. It under scores people s desperate need to have someone listen to them. Every one needs to talk to someone. Our mental health and our problem sol ving capabilities depend upon our Opportunity to communicate with at least one other person. This is Why it is so important for husbands and wives to learn to communicate. It s Why parents and children should make a supreme Effort to listen to one another not defensively but creatively. It has been said one s spouse is the Best psychiatrist available. By learning to listen to one another Many of a family s deepest problems could be solved. And listening to another creatively is consistent with our obligation to love our neighbor As ourself. now cars Lico Asod ii Slot Coriaty new autos Steve Gacke Hudson Plymouth.
