ment of cultural and recreational opportunities in Iowa Small communities and Rural areas will be held at the local Community Center 9 to october a highlight of the conference will be an address at by governor Robert Ray to which the Public is invited which will expand on the concept of life Quality initiated by Ray in the the governors conference on Iowa in the year the doors of the Community Center will be opened to the general Public at and bleacher seats will be pulled out for those turning out just to hear the governor the governors address will be concluded about attending the Daylong workshop Institute will be City City Park and recreation cultural arts youth rehabilitation workers and Public citizens interested in the improvement of cultural and recreational services and More than 400 invitations were sent communities Given particular attention at the Institute will be those with populations under the regional Institute Here has been organized As the first of eight to be held in the state during the next six months under the sponsorship of the Iowa program Impact of the higher education act of the Impact project is being con ducted under the direction of John local morning session will demonstrate How to identify the needs and How to establish priorities among those after the governors keynote and lunch the workshop meeting will show How to find resources and How to organize highlights of the Institute program include 1 latest information on the status of various Federal programs that apply to local communities and Rural areas in 2 information on 40 cultural and recreational resources for assistance to local communities in 3 important new materials sent by Extension services in on the development of local Parks and 4 special instruments for assessment of needs priority resources for use in local Iowa communities and Rural 5 a special workshop on recreation for the running concurrently with the Institute will be a Small workshop for
