situation that worked adversely on the at the same time the government exported vast quantities of f feed a step that prompted a Sharp increase in the Price which dairymen must pay for the government action is causing at least some of to lose Confidence in Dairying and governmental in All the government actions in recent months have been counter what is the situation regarding Dairy products to Day cheese production is up 2025 percent Over a year but butter is Down 1820 nonfat dry milk is Down the same or a bit and consumption of fluid milk continues to at the same there have been recent declines in prices which the Farmer receives for Dairy products it would seem to us that the Only logical course for the government to take now is to increase milk Price this would tend to level improve production incentives and hopefully result in a More orderly marketing of milk and milk such action should work in the Best interests of the Public in the Long run for it would tend to pro vide an adequate and continuing Supply of Dairy pro ducts to Consumers at reasonable prices while pro Viding fair prices to if milk prices Start slipping further and if farm expenses do not we could see another exodus of Dairy Farmers in due a shortage of Dairy this would be it would result in a situation where and particularly lower income Fame would be forced to do without Dairy so essential to
