Street improvements water works and the municipal electric system received the main focus of the Council s attention. Joe s ready mix of Sioux Center received the contract for excavating and Back filling for the upcoming water main installation. Joe s ready mix submitted a bid of $.57 per foot to get nod Over Jim s digging service which bidder $.62 per foot. The City will do the actual installing but Joe s will take care of the digging and filling in.  eight companies submitted quotations for the City s waterworks materials in a highly competitive bid. The Winner was the municipal Supply company of Ankeny and Sioux Falls which presented the Low bid of $42,691.91. That bid consisted of $37,852.50 for six and eight Inch cast Iron pipe and $4,839.41 for cast Iron fittings. Other bidders were the american cast Iron pipe company Brown Supply Clow corporation Plains co Sioux pipe & equipment Utility equipment company and the water products company. Brown Supply submitted the second lowest bid which was $43,292.37. The waterworks digging and installation project will Start within possibly one week from now and should be completed by the end of the summer. The water main extensions will extend primarily to the cardiac clinic slated for next month a cardiac health clinic for children and youth who have had rheumatic fever or who have heart problems will be held in Sioux City on july 12 & 13, 1977 according to or.
