The delegation is passing through la Verne on their Way to the world s poultry Congress in new Orleans aug. 11 to 16. Stray Oft rations in int japanese Agri businessmen visit Van s poultry farm near City seventeen japanese Agri businessmen toured farms and other places of interest in the area last weekend August 9-11including Van s poultry farm at the West outskirts of Sioux Center. Members of the delegation included japanese Farmers equipment installers and equipment dealers. The trip was arranged by Iwatani and co. Ltd. Of Japan and a. R. Wood manufacturing company of Luverne Minn. Iwatani handles a. R. Wood s North co equipment in Japan. Otto Ermler manager of a. R. Wood s Export department said the purpose of the visit was to give the japanese Agri businessmen a Chance to observe methods of poultry and livestock production used by u. S. Farmers. On Friday the group toured a Marvin Boelman s Roto tube cattle feeding operation near Luverne Howard Schmidt s Cage laying poultry operation near la Verne and the Don and Lowell Jauert s Rupf nement hog farrowing Nursery build1 ing near Luverne. Saturday the group toured a Large sophisticated 500-sow confinement far rowing operation in Northwest Iowa. The group also visited Van s poultry farm near Sioux Center and discussed poultry production Over lunch with Richard Van Regenmorter owner of Van s poultry farm and Stan Brower manager of the farm. The group also visited Blue Mound state Park. Pipestone National Monument and toured the a. R. Wood Plant. Sunday the delegation left this area to attend the world s poultry Congress in new Orleans Louisana August 11-16. A. R. John Kooistra Ella Hoekman al Coba Van den Berg and Bessie Feenstra All of Rock Valley. As of August 7, the grandparents have been spending approximately four hours from 10 00 2 30 . On monday through Friday at Hope Haven in Orienta Tion and training. Upon completion of the two week training period each grandparent will be assigned one or two children to work with each Day. Each grandparent will be giving their child that special one to one attention in the classroom shop area hallways and also on the playground.
