daily work The truth is that all pro fessions offer the opportunity for creative expression No matter our chosen field cre ativity is essential if we want to stay fresh in our jobs develop as professionals and make an impact in our community There is one group of professionals that is bursting at the seams with creative ideas that if carried out can influence a genera tion of children for the good That group is our teachers Teaching can be an extraor dinarily creative profession The trouble is sometimes it takes extra materials and supplies to carry off creative projects in the classroom and our school district cannot always afford the expense Many of our teachers care so much about their students that they pay for these materials and sup plies out of their own pockets This isnt right especially since our communityhas a way to support these educational projects For 17 years Partners in Education has given small grants to teachers to allow them to create engaging educational projects that support the curriculum Last year Partners gave to 211 teacherinitiated proj ects districtwide Grants are given to every public school and cover every subject Youd be amazed
