wifes situation was hopeless that she had zero chance of emerging from her persistent vegetative state On Wednesday the autopsy backed him up Medical examiners deter mined that Terri Schiavo had suffered irreversible brain dam age and even blindness and they found no evidence that she was strangled or otherwise abused before she collapsed But the answers about Schia vos condition were not enough to quell the controversy between her husband and parents who still do not believe the findings They insist their daughter inter acted with them tried to speak and might have gotten better with therapy The autopsy results on the 41yearold woman were made public more than two months after Schiavo died of dehydra tion on March 31 following the removal of her feeding tube 13 days earlier The death ended an extraordinary righttodie battle that engulfed the courts Congress and the White House The autopsy showed Schiavos brain had shrunk to about half the normal size for a woman her age and Richardsons jet draws more flak in GOP radio ads By STEVE TERRELL The New Mexican The radioad war Bill Richard son and the New Mexico Republican Party escalated Wednesday The GOP unleashed two more commercials in English and in Spanish blasting the governor for his administrations pur chase of a million jet airplane and what they call his highroller Both ads make pointed references to the eight passenger jet and to Rich ardsons having a makeup artist on staff The spots will air on six stations across the state for the next week state GOP executive director Marta Kramer The ad comes a week after Republicans ran a similar radio ad in New Mexico and in New Hamp shire where Richardson last week made a political foray to the site of the nations first presiden tial primary Richardson state appeals court rules By BARRY MASSEY The Associated Press Growing hallucinogenic mushrooms isnt prohib ited by a New Mexico law against manufacturing an illegal drug Thats the legal conclusion of the state Court of Appeals which has overturned the felony drugtrafficking con viction of an Alamogordo man for growing psilocybin mushrooms in his home Under state law drug traf ficking includes the manu facturing of illegal drugs However the court said growing mushrooms was not covered by the drug trafficking laws definition of The hallucinogenic sub stance in the mushrooms psilocybin is an
