New Mexican Police have licked a 15yearold Santa Fe boy to 10 sometimesviolent robber ies in the city in the first half of 2005 that targeted women people with dis abilities and the intoxicated according to court documents and interviews I would classify the activitv involved in this case as a crime Santa Fe Police Chief Beverly Lennen said this week Jorge BarronLino who has been in custody since July for his role in the armed robbery of a sandwich shop and at least two other area youths involved in some of the crimes used what police call blitzkrieg attacks to snatch purses and steal wallets and other possessions from pedestrians Lennen said In the attacks the victim was hit hard and fast and not given time to react she said BarronLino first came to the atten tion of police after a July 2 robbery at Subway 540 W Cordova Road in which he took off a mask he was wearing and an employee recognized him as a for mer Subway employee Luis Ceballos 18 another former Subway employee was with BarronIino at the time and was also recognized police said After he was arrested July 14 Barron Lino who allegedly brandished a hand gun during the robbery told police that Ontoniel Tom7 Antillon has lim ited New Mexicos authority to tax certain sales by outofstate compa nies but the government still won an important victory because it was allowed to impose income taxes on those corporations even if they have no physical presence in the state The ruling by the state Supreme Court came in a case that has been pending almost four years arid involves farreaching taxpolicy questions that are the subject of legal battles across the country dur ing a time of expanding electronic commerce The legal question of whether states can levy income taxes on outofstate companies is a very hotly
