While touring we saw Many places of interest some of were so attractive that we were loth to part irom them. While on that tour we saw considerable improvements going on. In Many places we saw ground broken tor the erection of stores and residences and a better class of buildings Are going up. We also saw several new factories recently have been inaugurated Aud will soon be finished. The cold storage and Canning factory will soon be ready to commence to kill and Corn beef. The new steam laundry will soon be ready also the big brewery. The Sash door Blind and furniture companies Are adding to their works. One or More flour Mills two sugar Mills and several other manufacturing enterprises have been started the past week. The merchants report that business is Good. Bince the opening of the smelters a Large number of labourers have been employed. They get better wages than they received before the smelters were started and As a result they Are better fed Aud clothed than heretofore and the merchants get the Benefit of the increased . The building of the Monterey and mexican Gulf railway has brought considerable business to the City. The business Meu of Linares Aud Victoria heretofore done their business through the part of Matamoras but now Send their products to this dry Aud do their purchasing Here. Bino our last letter a Large influx of miners has been in the City and considerable Ore has been received at the smelters. Major Jules a. Randal received a Sample of Ore from the Kasharo mine that assayed 180 ounces of Silver and 19 76 per cent Lead to the ton. All the smelters have received new specimens of ores irom new mines that have recently been discovered and which they Are now having assayed. Several prospecting parties have started in the week to Hunt mines in the adjoining mountains. Many of them have been brought Here from Reading the account of mines and miners in the daily Light and they informed us that they Are thoroughly satisfied with what they saw Here. A new Telegraph line. Recently the Monterey Aud mexican Gulf Railroad company established telegraphic communication with the United states via Eagle pass Aud Cable communication via Galveston.
