son and two others injured in a Headon collision Friday evening North of Lumberton near us 301 Rosie Delong Locklear 31 of route 8 Lumberton was killed in the pm Accident on mount Olive Church Road or according to investigating officer de Wright of the no Highway patrol is Locklear son Shelton Locklear was transported to Southeastern general Hospital with a closed head wound or cerebral contusion he was transferred to Cape fear medical Center shortly after Midnight Friday where he was listed in satisfactory condition late saturday according to a spokesperson for the medical Center Harvey Killin i sheriffs car hit by single Shotgun blast l John Culbreth staff writer an unmarked vehicle driven by Robeson county sheriffs department officers was hit with a single Shotgun blast Friday evening while the officers were driving Down a Rural county Road near red Springs according to an official with the department Burnis Wilkins narcotics supervisor for the depart ment said narcotics officer Jerry Woods and Deputy sheriff Randy Ivey had stopped a vehicle on old Lowery Road or 1505 approximately 1 mile East of red Springs and had completed the arrest of an occupant of the vehicle Hopes will result in better relations Between students and City police Stacy Ann Goodwin 23 a May 12 graduate of the University of North Carolin Wilm in ton agreed to dismiss a million Feder Al lawsuit tuesday in Exchange for a settlement and a letter of apology from a Wilmington police officer is Goodwin filed suit july 1989 claiming she was assaulted and arrested without cause by officer Brian Pettus during a fraternity party fracas the terms of the settlement also require Pettus to study interpersonal and human relations conflict management proper use of Force civil liability and Legal updates through police i service training one of the purposes of the lawsuit was to try to make something positive of a bad situation is Goodwin said saturday in the complaint filed by Woodberry
