A telegram was received this morning by- the act- ing Secretary of State from Minister Pitkin, at Buenos Ayres, stating that a revolution of arms is in progress. The authorities have notified all tel- I egraph companies whoso lines connect with the lines in that country that telegraph communication will ba sus- pended until further notice. Quite a funeral cortege of carriages followed the hearse to the grave. Last Saturday afternoon a rumor was prevalent throughout portions of town that the levee at Saorainento had broken in several places and the city partially inundated. The report cre- ated great uneasiness among many Sacramentans here, which was dissi- pated by telegraphic inquiry. Though the great oyster aphorism of never eating oysters except in months bearing a lette_r R has proven itself correct in the main on the Atlan- tic coast, where oysters are plucked and soon eaten, it can hardly apply to canned fresh oysters preserved on ice and transported here in refrigerator cars. Two workmen's trains, through some un- explained stupidity of a switchman, collided. Ten workmen were instantly killed, and sixty others injured, of whom it is said twenty will certainly die. The news spread through the city, and the greatest excitement pre- vails. the sixty injured it is now believed at least thirty are fatally hurt. _ IMckrd Up At By Associated Press.) BOSTON, July steamer D. H. Miller, which arrived here to-day from Baltimore, reports that on the 28th, when off Five Fathom Bank Light, the ship picked up two boats containing twenty men, the crew of the British steamer Chailes Moran, which sailed from New York for Vera Cruz last week.
