Director Morris Ververs said he met with directors Dave Taussig and Dave Stone to discuss engineering firms to Complete the study. The District could make recommendations based on the findings of the study Ververs said. The committee estimated the study would continue for 30 Days. Black Hills corporation has proposed a Coal mine and Coal fired generators to produce electricity in Eastern Elbert county near Limon. The Buick Power Plant would include two 250 megawatt circulating fluidized bed boilers and one 500 my steam Turbine Generator. The Plant would operate for 40 years and Cost $918 million to build. The corporation has proposed a 44-month construction schedule. It listed Colorado Lignite As the primary fuel mined at 383,190 pounds per hour with a maximum feed rate of 235 tons per hour. The corporation proposed a water plan to use ground water from the alluvial ground water aquifer the upper big Sandy designated ground water Basin and other sources to operate the mine and Power Plant. It identified an annual water use of 1,150 acre feet for a hybrid Cooling system or 7,000 acre feet for a conventional wet Cooling system. The corporation listed 96.1 acre feet per year discharged to evaporation Ponds.
