Three Burlington fete to Aid defense two organizations to give War Bond As Jamboree gift Burlington a july Jamboree sponsored by Ross Wilcox Post no. 79, american legion and the knights of Columbus is going to do its part in National defense this year. In past years an automobile has been Given away at the Jamboree. Such a gift is impossible this year and in casting around for a substitute members of the general committee hit upon an idea which ii receiving whole hearted support in Burlington. They Are going to give away a $1,000, series a War savings Bond on the evening of july 5, just before the Jamboree closes. Idea approved. Both sponsoring organizations approved the committees idea and pledged that any Money they May derive from Sale of admission tickets to the Jamboree be used to Purchase War savings Bonds in the name of their own organization. On the basis of previous years statisticians have figured out that this Means the july Jamboree will net approximately s 1,500 for the War Effort.
