A while the House ways and Means committee continues to Dawdle some very interesting information is leaking out regarding the forces behind the committees butchering of the Treasury a carefully balanced a ability to pay War tax program. After More than four months of secret deliberation the committee finally produced a tentative Bill which i Falls nearly $3,000,000,-000 Short of the $8,700,000,000 the Treasury says must be raised to finance the vast War program and 2 taxes $10-a-week messenger boys while leaving unplugged loopholes enabling big profit corporations and millionaire holders of state and municipal Bonds to Dodge millions in taxes. Stet j Tinius was the first to see the need of building synthetic rubber fac tories to prepare for the fall of Singapore and began Dinning on Jesse Jones for nearly a year before he could get Jesse to move. The other commodity was High octane gasoline without which the current bombing raids could not take place. One bomber takes about 1,000 Gallons of gasoline to Fly from England to Germany and Back so with 1,000 bombers staging a raid 1,000,000 Gallons of fuel is used up in one night. The crooning sex flour Salesman teamed with a crooning Mineral water Salesman who is running for governor is daily putting on a political Medicine show that would have brought blushes in the bal Miest Days of peace.
