Roberts will be honoured with the Pool dedication for his Many years of work with the youth of the Community through various organizations Roberts was also the leading contributor in the fund drive to finance the Pool. The activities in the Park will Start at 1 . With a dinner for the invited guests who Are members of the Pool committee on the program Etc. Local families Are asked to join in by having a picnic in the Park. Barbecued Chicken will be available in the Park for families to Purchase. Ken Lein who will also be manager of the Pool will act As master of ceremonies for the program. Musical selections by the Post Ville High school band under the direction of Roger Beerman will open the dedication program. Iowa it governor Roger Jepson will give the dedication speech. Acknowledgements will be presented by Fred Palmquist and Leroy Odem vice chairmen of the Postville swimming Pool committee they will also make the presentation of the Pool to the town. Accepting the Pool for the town will be mayor Rodney Smith following this there will be games and races for the children of the Community. With construction slowed by the Rains Friday and monday it would appear the Pool will not open before the dedication sunday. As of monday night about half of the Cement remained to be poured around the Pool., the Pool has been painted but the underwater lights still have to be installed before the Pool can be filled. Stands for the diving boards and lifeguard chairs Are in place but the boards and chairs Are not mounted. Interior work on the Bathhouse is nearly Complete. The Board examined recommendations by a number of roofers in regard to needed repair work on the Large gym and the roof of the elementary building. Ivan warm architect met with the Board and recommended an entirely new roof be installed on the Large gym. The Board decided to do so following specifications drawn up by Stenson & warm architects and submitted for bids. The superintendent applied to the county superintendent to have the project declared an emergency so the roof could be installed redecorating of the gym and sanding of the floor could All be accomplished this summer. Action on repairs to the roof of the elementary building was delayed until a future meeting. A contract was awarded Schutte furniture store Postville on the basis of competitive bids to carpet the High school study Hall Library and to furnish carpeting for the two kindergarten rooms. The Library study Hall carpeting will be installed probably sometime in june. The furniture store will furnish bound carpeting sections Large enough to cover approximately half of each kindergarten room. The resignation of Harriet Jevne third Grade teacher was approved. Miss Jevne taught Here Tor the past ten years and is resigning because of illness in her family. She will accept a position in the Decorah schools to be closer to Home. Jungblut will receive his is from Winona state College at Winona Minn in june with a major in physical education and health. He has played varsity basketball at Winona state College for the past four years and lettered in basketball football and baseball in High school. Kathryn Olson Emmons Minnesota was awarded a contract As third Grade teacher an Stephenie Stephens Platter due Wisconsin was Given a contract to teach second Grade. Miss Olson is a firing graduate of Wartburg College Waverly with a major in elementary education.
