Rana Named President MONTGOMERY The an- nual meeting of the Ap- palachian Chapter of the American Association of Physics Teachers was hosted Saturday by West Virginia Tech. The association is com- prised of physics teachers on the secondary and college levels from West Virginia, Southeastern Ohio and Western Maryland. Dr. Lyle Blackwell, dean of the school of engineering and physical sciences, gave the welcoming address for the all- day conference. The physics teachers witnessed demonstra- tions and the presentations of papers from nine of their col- leagues. During the afternoon session, Dr. A. R. Rana, chairman of the Department of Physics at West Virginia Tech, began his elected position as the asso- ciation's new president. UFO Seen In Area MULLENS Residents of the Mullens area reported see- ing an unidentified flying ob- ject in the vicinity of the Mul- lens Athletic Field Friday, Sat- urday and Sunday nights. The object reportedly ap- peared around 9 p.m. each night and remained visible for almost one hour. The group sighting the object in the Mullens area used binoculars to view the "glowing lights." According to the viewers, the UFO appeared to be in the shape of a "lop-sided" star. The lights were said to have been "red and green with a swiveling One resident said it appeared to be a "large off-shaped saucer with one large white light in the center and red and green lights surrounding the larger one. Evelyn Vass, 19, of Fayetteville daughter of Russell Vass Jr and Virginia Thompson. Warn K. Sebert Dies In Hospita LEWISBURG (RNS) William Keith Sebert, 62, o Lewisburg died Tuesday nigh in a Ronceverte hospital after a long illness. Born in Nicholas County, Nov late Kyle and Minnie Harold Sebert. He was owner of Seber Monument Co. at Lewisburg was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church Methodist Men, Maxwelton Ruritan Club, Greenbrier Lodge No. 42, Ronceverte Chapter No 21, Royal Arch Masons Greenbrier Commandery No 15, Knights Templars and Bem Kedem Shrine of Charleston. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; Keith Jr. one of son, William Mesa, Ariz. cne stepson, Samuel B. Callison or Arlington, Va.; one sister Mrs. Harry Loria of Salem Ohio, and four granddaughters Services will be at 2 p.m Friday at Lewisburg United Methodist Church with Dr William Lynch and Dr. Garden Hillman in charge. Burial wil be in Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg.
