VA., THURSDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 25, 1973 For Youngsters Two weekly organized .recreation sessions for pre- schoolers are now being offeree by the Beckley-Raleigh County YMCA. From to p.m. on Fri- days, children in ages four through six can participate in a physical education program, including trips to local parks. A regular program of ac- tivities is also scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. ,The Saturday session is for grade schoolers as well as pre-school age youngsters. Participation is free to YMCA members and membership is required. During the same period on Saturday mornings, the YMCA will offer a weight-lifting pro- gram for 7th, 8th and 9th grade boys using the recently acquired 16-station universal weight lifting machine. This machine allows 16 persons to work out at one time and is specially designed to make it impossible for weights to fall on the user. Special conditioning pro- grams using the machine have been developed for each sport. A shoulder and knee rehabilitation program is also .available. Instructor for the weight lift- ing will be Mike Hambrick, defensive end on Woodrow Wilson High School's football team and a member of the wrestling squad. Disneyland Film Slated At Center A film presentation, "The Magic of will be shown at p.m. Sunday at Sunrise, an art and education center, at 746 and 755 Myrtle Road in Charleston. Other activities at the center Iwill include "Voyage of the H- shown in the planetar- ium Sunday and "The Winter Sky" on Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. On Nov. 2 there will be a "star party" at dusk and a class in crayon batik for junior 1 and senior high students will be conducted from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a fee of and a macrame workshop for adults from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for Storytelling will be at 10 a.m. on Nov. 3. Lois Lively will instruct a class In macrame from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Oct 30 and Eleanor Clark will conduct a beaded flower class at 1 p.m. .-Oct. 31.' West Virginia Painters 73 and new accessions of the Art Gallery's per- manent collection are still on display. Lillie Bowlings Rites Incomplete Lillie Brown Bowling, 74, of Cool Ridge died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long Illness. She was a member of the Salem Primitive Baptist Church at Mount View and was born on Aug. 15, 1889 at Blue Stone, a daughter of the late Christopher and Luanda Cooper Dodson. Survivors include her hus- band, Paris; two sons, Bobby of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jesse Clyde of Bristol, Va.; a daughter, Wanda P h 1 e g a r Basham of White Oak, two sisters, Mrs. Lessie M. Taylor of Beckley and Mrs. Lemma Wheeler of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
