Dobbin Tumer has had a lot to work through in her life. Her first husband died of cancer in 2001 and her son from that marriage is severely disabled with cerebral palsy. The Singer songwriter won her own Battle with cervical cancer four years ago. Her mom Vera Dickson is thrilled her daughter has achieved her goal. She remembers Dobbin Tumer always jotting Down lyrics wherever she could. Quot she had t really been involved in Musk for awhile Here so she did t really know a lot of Michael Dickson 41, who released his own album in 1997, used his experience to arrange backup vocals a recording studio and musicians for his sister. Dickson runs a group Home for the mentally challenged in Maple Ridge. Before last june Dobbin Tumer did Little musically for almost 14 years so she could look after her son Shane who has cerebral palsy. Quot the music really Nad to go on the Burner until his needs were met Quot she said. The funeral of a Friend in june was the catalyst for Dobbin Tumer to begin singing and writing again. Quot i came Home from that funeral and that was just really my kick in the butt that Saicic of you want to do this baby you better get at it because he was my age Quot she explained. Dobbin Turner donated proceeds from the album launch and to per cent of the night s cd sales to children s wish foundation. Just Over $2,000 was raised. Quot this is my dream i got to hold onto for 30 years. It s finally been fulfilled. Lots of the kids that the children s wish foundation supports Aren t going to have that so hopefully we can help with a dream of theirs Quot Dobbin Tumer said.
