Arlan was born in Portage la Prairie on july 4, 1988. He graduated from pc in 2006 and was presently enrolled in the University of Manitoba. Arlan was predeceased by his grandpa Norman Asham Uncle Frankie Davis and Cousin Kaitlyn Gayle Dickenson. Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memories Are his parents Garth and Tracey Asham Brothers Vance and Tanner and sister Lacey Jayne. Among those who will miss him dearly Are his Nanny Trudy Mcdonald papa and grammy Mark and Yvonne and grandma Asham Evelyn. Special times and special feelings were shared with his Many aunts uncles and cousins aunty Thelma and family aunty Betty Bill and family aunty Fern and Uncle Bob godparents to Arlan and their family Uncle Arnold Laurie and family aunty Sandra and family Uncle Ivor and aunty Carol and family Uncle Kelly aunty Cindy Dave and family aunty Roxanne Perry and family aunty Wendi David and family and Uncle Jay Donna and family As Well As a very Large and close knit extended family. Family was very important to Arlan and he enjoyed Many gatherings with both his immediate and extended family. Friends in Arlanis life were hugely important to his existence As was his cellphone. For fear of missing your name or downplaying your significance just know each and everyone of you was very special to him. Arlan was Active in sports throughout his Junior and High school years. Special times memories and life lessons were All accumulated through his associations. His dream was to finish his arts degree in criminology and then go into the ramp. He would have had an awesome future. Make time for the important people in your lives now. Memorial service was held on thursday August 28, 2008 at 1 00 pm at Trinity United Church. Rev. Julie Baker led the service. Aunty Debbie Uncle Arnold and Rob Gamache shared memories of Arlan. George Anderson Sang amazing Grace. Arlanis friends created a slide presentation tribute. Com Cora Lorra i be Gannon suddenly on sunday August 24, 2008 at the Portage and District general Hospital Cora Gannon beloved wife of Charles Gannon of Portage la Prairie and formerly of Westbourne my passed away at the age of 72 years. Cora was born at Deloraine my daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn King. She received her education at the Henderson school in the Wakoa District. On june 5, 1954 she married Charlie Gannon at Boissevain my where Charlie worked for the c. P. R. After numerous moves they settled in Westbourne my in 1966. During those years Cora worked As a Cook at Munro is snack bar Kellys Grill and for the restaurant at the Junction of highways 1 and 16. For ten years Cora was a House Mother at the Delta waterfowl research station following which she was employed at the Post office in Westbourne. The family remember their mom As always smiling and Happy and available when anyone needed her. Left to mourn her unexpected passing Are her husband Charlie one daughter Debbie Smith and her children Ryan and Sharalyn two sons Bill Gannon Margeurite and their children Chris Jenny Cherrie Tyler and Amanda and great grandchildren Tasha Josh and Owen and Brad Gannon Linda and their daughter Christina and great grandchildren Ashley and Justin. Cora is also survived by three Sisters Elaine Rita and Janice five Brothers Murray Gordon Ken Bob and Wayne numerous nieces nephews and in Laws. She was predeceased by two Brothers Allan in 1943 and Bill in 1980. A private interment took place in the family plot in Westbourne cemetery. A memorial service was held in the Westbourne Community Hall on Friday August 29, 2008 with a reception following. The 15th annual big Bike ride a fundraiser for the heart and stroke foundation of Manitoba is set to take place in the Community next month. The heart and stroke big Bike is a fun team spirited event that is focused on raising awareness of the importance of physical activity to help prevent heart disease and stroke while raising funds for vital research and advocacy efforts right Here in Manitoba explained the organizations provincial program manager Vanessa Shaff. The big Bike which is eight feet across and 30 feet Long will be Ridden by teams of 29 people who have collected personal pledges before the event. Since the first big Bike ride in 1993, nearly $ 1.5 million has been raised for heart and stroke research and the foundations goal is to raise another $ 227,000 this year.
