Is Expected- MANY NEW MEMBERS ASE BEING ENROLLED. Splendid Opportunity of Enter- ing Winter Classes Is Now Presented. The oiimp-usn launched yesterday by tlie Boosters' association of the Y. M. C. A. to secure new members for the institution started off with the prospect of splendid success be- ing achieved by tomorrow night the campaign ends. Nine teams are making a canvas of the entire, and a special effort Is being mode to interest the cm- of factories to take up work tn the Y. M. C. A. With the winter season athletic and physical culture classes just starting the. time to join is right now and there has been a splendid response. Other campaigns have resulted in i successful conclusion but the pros- pects this year are that there will be 'more members secured than in any previous campaign and the members of the several canvassing teams de- clare that there will be several hun- dred new members added before to- morrow night. Classes are arranged to suit the convenience of men in all walks of life. There are classes for the fac- tory men, business men and profes- sional men and the time of the meet- Ings are arranged to suit all. Special classes in swimming are being organized and after the close of the campaign tomorrow night there will ho other swimming classes irranged and thb personnel of the ithletic and physical culture teams will be made up for the season's work. It Is requested that in the event any one desirrs to join the associa- tion and they are not railed on by members of any of the committees that they call at the V. M. C. A. and enroll. There are many more where local option is making great strides. In fact the map shows that the United States out aide of the citos is pretty dry. Ther e is lots of liquor to be bought in California and Nevada! Wyoming. Utah, -Mew Mexico and Texas have the ir wet spots, and Minnesota, Missouri and Louisiana sell plenty. Bast of the Mississippi Wisconsin. Illinois, Indiana and Ohio have much dry territory. New York and Pennsylvania, with all the New England states, except Maine, are still pretty wet.
