ENTERPRISING WOMEN! Wkit Tker Have Done To Male*Ocean City.[Special Dispatch to the Baltimore San.]Ocean Citt, Md., May 28.—The visitor returning to Ocean City is most favorably impressed with the steady growth an£ de-Xlopment of this delightful resort, and rther more impressed with the fact that ! many of the most successful enterprises I here are the result of women’s Industry j and effort.Two of tie largest cottages now In the course of erection are owned by enterprising and successful women. The first Is the “Mount Pleasant,” being built by Mrs. 8. Buel, of Washington, D. C. This cottage Is the outcome of Mrs. Duel's Industry. she having started here In a very small way four years ago. Mrs. D. C. Vande-grtft, of Pittsburg, Pa., also is Impressed 1 with the value of Investing here. Last j year she built and managed the “Tarry-awhlle” cottage. She was so much encouraged that she Is now building a large cottage.Among other women here who have hadthe pluck to invest and who have met withsuccess each year nresMrs. John Showell, owner of the “Ocean Swell” cottages; Mrs. Burwell, of the “Colonial” cottage; Mrs.i O. Shreve, of Baltimore. Five years ago she built the Pllrahlmmon Hotel, which was the first hotel erected here since the Atlantic was finished. 2d years ago. Each year Mra. Hhrcve bos added to her j property, first erecting on elaborate and beautiful casino, which Is the handsomest building on the beach. This season she Is adding a new dining room, with entire front of plate-glass, giving ftn ocean view of GO feet. This Is without doubt the | greatest Improvement that has been madethis year.Now that the Baltimore, Chesapeake and i Atlantic railroad is under the control and lt;management of the Pennsylvania system, great improvements are expected In trans- j l portatlon to Ocean City. A through ex-press train, with Pullman cars from Balti- I more and Washington, Is spoken of.Kingsley Inn. North ocean front and I Third avenue, is nearing completion. Last week it was discovered that the building had been located on the wrong lot. The error Is full of great embarrassments to all jconcerned. \Work has begun on the new Rt.-Paur»-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. It will be 70 by 85 feet, with a parish room attached, i The church, when completed, will tea substantial and beautiful building. The cornerstone will be laid by Bishop Adams about Wednesday. June 6. In the afternoon, when the convention, then assembled at Berlin, will attend In a body. Rev. J. Gibson Gantt Is the rector, and the building committee I Is: Robert J. Showell, L. L.
