Kuebeler, Sr., Retired Business Man, Was 85.Death came to a well known citizen of Sandusky Wednesday afternoon when August Kuebeler, Sr.,! passed away nt his residence, 1318 |Tiffin-av following a brief illness.I He waa aged 85 years. Death Is believed to have been .caused by chronic bronchitis,- with which Kuebeler w'as afflicted for many year.?.Mr. Kuebeler, was born February 0, 1843 in Herringau, Hesse -Nassau, Germany, came to this country at the age of 10 years. He entered government employ shortly after the beginning of the Civil War, working at his trade of cabinet-maker.He and a brother, the late Jacob Kuebeler, formed a partnership in 1867 engaging In the brewing business under the firm name of Jacob Kuebeler and company. Later the company was Incorporated under the -name of the Kuebeler ! Brewing and Malting company. jSome years later the firm merged pvlth the Stang Brewing company (and formed the Kuebeler-StangBrewing company. Mr. Kuebeler cold out his interest to tho Cleve-I land and Sandusky Brewing com-ipany in 1898 and retired.| Ho is survived byi one son, August 'Kuebeler. Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. |Wi]llam A. Dehncl; a granddaughter. Mrs. A. C. Burch; one brother, [Philip Kuebeler, and two sisters, Mrs. George Heyrnan, of Hlcksvllle land Mrs. V/ilhelmtna Rolishank of jGermany. His wife preceded hlca jin death a year ago. j Funeral services ore to be held Saturday morning . from the resl-idenco at 10 o'clock the Rev. H. E. PheJffer officiating.
