NEWS OF THE SHIPPINGTrial Trip Of The Lyra.The official trial trip of the steamer Lyra, built by the Maryland Steel Company for the Boston Towboat Company, was made yesterday in the bay, during which her compasses were adjusted by Mr. M. V. O’Neal. Baker Whlteley’a tug Britannia followed the trial of the Lyra, and when completed brought to Sparrows Point the officers of the company who had witnessed her perfect work. The Lyaa continued to Newport News, where she will load her maiden cargo, which will be coal, for Boston.Arrival Of The Blake.The rnited States Const Surrey steamer Blake. Capt. P. A. Welker, arrived yesterday from Tortugns and Key West from survey work in the Gulf of Mexico. The Blnke anchored off Thompson's Sea Girt House. Captain Welker's staff of officers are C. A. Thompson, J. L. Dunn, J. A. Me. Gregor, George Olsen, all deck officers; L. M. Hopkins, chief engineer; Surgeon G. E. Mnrejband. and P. B. Castles, draftsman.
