The M, 6c W. R. A. Regatta*Owing to all the members of the W. R, C. senior four being unable to get leave of absence from their work to attend the il. Sc W, R. A. regatta at Minnetonka, there i a probability of the clab not entering a crew in the senior four CTcnt. A senior crew may go down, but more for the sport than with any hope or expectation of being Abie to beat the other contesting crews. It is also thought that the Rat Portage club will not send any representatives to the regatta owing to the protest lodged against Desbrisay by the Minnesotaa. The Rat Portage club, however, has not yet been heard from definitely on the point. The Impression among the members of the Winnipeg club seems to be that the protest of the the St, Paul elub is not sound in view of the practice that prevails among amateur clubs to find men employment for the purpose of securing their ervicee. Tins Is not regarded as professionalism, and the only charge against Desbrissy is that he offered before leaving Minneapolis to row with the Minnesotss if they would find him a situation. However, the Rat Portage club would not like to bear the expense of sending their men to Minnetonka and then have one of their strongest oare barred out, and it is not likely that the matter can be settled until the association meets at the course.
