The Board of supervisors budget committee meeting thursday found that Highway officials Are requesting a contribution from the general fund portion of the budget the amount raised by tax of $365,000. At the first meeting for preparation of the 1969 operating accounts the same supervisors heard requests from the welfare department for $434,767 in increases to operate next years social services programs. And the committee has also received requests from other departments for increases totalling some $35,000. But wait done to go away yet there a More. County officers committee still has to submit its recommendations for salaries for employees along with those covered under negotiations. The total figure Hasni to been computed but estimates for the 146 workers in the civil service employees association alone ran around $100,000. Included in yesterdays budget insertions were a $9,076 increase for the cooperative Extension service. The one Agency which has been combined from three different authorized departments will receive a total of $77,509 under the proposal. The committee included $1,600 increase for the county historical museum to Aid in its operating budget for the year $710 for radio equipment in the civil defense office and $600 for operation of sheriffs department patrol cars. Under the Highway budget an increase of $280,000 has been included under the county Road fund maintenance account bringing to total to $1,088,000. Apparently included in the figure is funds for finishing construction of the Lincklaen Pitcher Road and repaving the county Highway from Preston to East phar Salia. The Overall Highway budget is $1,631,515.04, an increase of $324,667 Over last year. A $394,200 appropriation is also requested in the Road machinery fund but authorities report the sums Are reimbursable.
