The hospitalized victims including an off duty state trooper were in satisfactory condition this morning at Chenango memorial Hospital Norwich. As the Blackwell car was preparing to make a left turn into the troopers driveway while proceeding Easterly in the Center Lane of a three Lane Highway. Another vehicle operated by mrs. Eleanor Vander Kooy 52, of 120 North Broad St. Made a right turn from the Chenango Lake Road and headed Westerly toward the City police said. As she turned the Sutton car westbound in route 23, swerved to the right when the operator thought she was going to run into the Back end of the Vander Kooy car police said crossed double solid lines and went into the Center Lane. Blackwell apparently attempting to avoid the Sutton car swerved to the right but was hit in the Center of the left Side of the vehicle being pushed across the right eastbound Lane and off the shoulder troopers said. Police said the Vander Kooy car was not hit in the mishap. The injured were transported to the Hospital by the Norwich emergency squad utilizing an ambulance and fire chief Donald Barrows station Wagon.
