Coach Faust started Moeller High schools football program 20 years ago and has been its Only head coach since a varsity team was initiated four years later. Ursula and a member of the Moeller Reserve cheer leading squad which mrs. Faust works with when she has time. Gerry iii is an eighth grader at All saints school and in the fall he and Julie will be attending st. Joseph High school in Indiana. Steve now a seventh grader at All saints will be attending Christ the King school. All three will finish out the school year Here. The faults have not yet sold their Montgomery Home and they k Aren t sure exactly when be leaving. The area. While the head of the household prepares the groundwork for his first season with the fighting Irish the rest of the family goes about As usual mrs. Faust works As a Secretary at Sycamore Junior High school and the youngsters Are by cd in their respective schools after Christmas vacation. But the move to South Bend will be the Start of new challenges for All of them. They will be adapting to a new environment and a new Gridiron loyalty. Mrs. Faust said she had spoken with her husband about the challenges she will be facing but As yet those challenges Are not Well defined. They would have seen the frenzied activities a bake sales at lunch time Candy peddling during tag teacher s advisory group i Jay Hanson hawking Quot Tootsie pops Quot bought with his own Money the raffling of a huge Christmas tree cake at Assembly. They would have seen the youngsters digging into their own pockets giving up their treats and soda spirits in Madeira and even lunch Money Money. The students collected at Ball games. They went caroling for the Ricky King fund. They talked to everyone who a listen and this year they got the people in the Community of Madeira interested. People listened and Learned about Reyes syndrome from the Young people and they responded with donations. Although it was a solemn undertaking and the students were serious about it they As Young people will had fun with it. They thought up ways to make the Job exciting. Competitions were started Between the various tag groups. Those critics of tag who say it Isnit working should have seen How in some tag groups the members a Mew. Pm together and formed a sort of family. And it was their group against the world. The Competition was fiercely keen Between a few groups these groups were led by spirited teachers who were intensely interested in the drive and fed their enthusiasm to the students. Rick tanners and Karin Schneider Stag groups were the top two and collected the most Money but other groups were not far Back. Students in the winning tags will receive Kings Island passes donated by Taft broadcasting co. There will also be a pizza party and free periods but it was not the prizes that made these Young people work for the Ricky King fund.
