John Wasylik 1927-2015 88, of Sandusky passed away peacefully late wednesday evening sept. 2, 2015, surrounded his family in the Stein hospice care Center Sandusky. Bom on june 28, 1927, in Chester ,pa., the son of Alex and Anna Shott Wasylik. He grew up in Dover Ohio and had been a resident of Sandusky since 1958. Or. Wasylik a Veteran of the korean War having served in the. Army with the 7th infantry division As a machine gun Section sergeant 17th infantry regiment. He earned the combat infantry badge unit citation and the Bronze Star. In 1958, the same year that he joined the he graduated from Ohio state University College of optometry and began his practice. Six years later he was elected commander of the department of Ohio and was named one of four depart ment commanders of the year representing the big ten conference 1964-1965.
